The New Mexico Chamber Music Festival provides an opportunity for renowned faculty to share the tradition of classical chamber music with talented young artists. While immersed in music-making, students exchange and refine ideas, form interpretations, and enhance their communication skills daily. Their work culminates in a series of performances throughout Albuquerque, adding a distinctive hue to the vibrant artistic palette that resonates in our community.
History
Founded in 2013 by Artistic Director Pamela Pyle, the New Mexico Chamber Music Festival takes place annually in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In previous years, we likened this extraordinary event to a backroom in Prohibition, where a secret knock was needed to gain entry! Energies focused on refining the festival left little time for letting people in on the secret. With the established success of the festival thus far, we are excited to open the doors to more students and share this remarkable experience on a larger scale. The talented students that have participated in the past have come from across the globe, representing seven countries- Brazil, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Venezuela, and the United States. We look forward to welcoming this year's young artists and audiences alike!
